How to activate your device

Immediate action required

Unlocked Device: Please ensure the new sim card is placed in your current device.

New Device: Please ensure the device is completely charged and powered on the day you plan to complete your activation. 

 

  1. ALL, Please clear voicemails, save your contacts and synch your device with your pc before you start the activation process
  2. Make sure your OLD device is OFF.  New Device is ON.

If you are activating your unlocked device, please leave the device on. 

  1. There are two ways  you can complete your port
  • Complete your activation online
  • Call the automated system to complete your activation

 

                Complete your activation online 

  1. Access: https://www.att.com/checkmyorder/activations/activateDevice.rt          
  2. Select the “activate wireless device” option
  3. Enter your wireless number and enter your billing or shipping zip code, select continue
  4. verify  the  equipment information shown, Select “Yes” if correct
  5. It may ask you to accept the contract terms, please check the box at the bottom of the page.
  6. This will complete your activation
  7. After you have completed your activation please test your device by having a call placed to and from your device. 

Only for users activating a new AT&T Device.

you may experience a period of “blended service” (able to receive calls on the old device, and make calls on the new device):  This could take up to five minutes to complete. 

 

 

 

Complete your activation by calling the Automated System

  1. Please contact AT&T’s IVR (866) 895.1099.  this is the wireless contract acceptance line.  Upon calling in, you will be required to provide the ten digit wireless number you are trying to activate.

 

The following prompts will guide you through the activation. 

  • You will be automatically transferred to the corporate activations line and please select option 1 for activations.  
  • When prompted enter the wireless number (xxx-xxx-xxxx) you are calling about starting with the area code. You entered (xxx-xxx-xxxx)
  • If this is correct, press 1.  Please hold while we access your account information. 
  • Please note that when you activate your new equipment, your existing equipment will no longer work.  
  • To continue with the activation process, press 1.  
  • After you have completed your activation please test your device by having a call placed to and from your device.
